SOUL MATE © 1998
Romantic Poem by Dean FH Macy

You are my morning star,
A gentle, guiding light.
You took moonbeams, and platting them into a crown
Placed it on my head
To make me special.
You took the sparkle in your eyes
And filled the deep recesses of my despair
with shimmering sight.
The sun shines as noonday when you smile
And your laughter chases rain,
The glow in your countenance warming the cold night air.

Your beauty,
The lilt of your step,
The effervescence of your charm
Chases the darkness from my mind.
And everywhere,
Tiny bells ring your passage as you step.
Your sweet fragrance fills the air
Attracting tiny butterflies and hummingbirds,
In a never ending circle about your head.
Never a frown does mar your delicate face
And the whiteness of your skin opalesces with glory
In a shimmering glow.

The aura of your life you held for me to touch
Gently, softly,
Caressing my soul.
And life, part yours, part mine
Yearns never for release.
All that is love,
All that is joy,
All that is yours to give,
Gave you unto me,
And I made whole through you.

I see you still
Bathed in glorious light emanating from within
Standing in the sweetened air
Your laughter like tiny bells,
The light from your smile piercing the night
And that which was darkness
Is no more.
